Elaine Walters from the Trauma Healing Project will be talking about:

  • The prevalence and impact of trauma (our own and intergenerational)
  • Strategies for resilience, healing and recovery.

Elaine Walters is the founding executive director of the Trauma Healing Project (THP), and a parent and survivor herself. The THP provides education in the community to help increase awareness of trauma and to promote healing and recovery.  THP also provides direct healing resources through our healing arts programFor families with children that experience mental, emotional, and/or behavioral health challenges Children are supervised and interact with trained youth activity leaders. Children have access to movies, WII, crafts, coloring, free play, and games while the adults get a much needed rest. Children are supervised and interact with trained youth activity leaders and OFSN staff. A light dinner and a snack are provided. This is a popular event and fills up fast! FREE PASSES TO THE SCIENCE FACTORY

Explore the Museum! 

The Museum of Natural and Cultural History has joined Museums for All, a national program to expand low-income families access to museums.  Beginning July 1, 2016, families who present an EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer) card can be admitted to the Museum of Natural and Cultural history for a reduced fee of $1 per person or $5 per family (up to 2 adults and 2 children).  Call the museum for more information at: 541-346-3024
