Health Information Centers

Family-to-Family (F2F) Health Information Centers are funded through a grant from the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, a division of HRSA

Family-to-Family Centers work directly with families of children with disabilities and/or special health care needs to provide health information, education and family and youth support.  The Oregon Family-to-Family Health Information Project has trained application assistors for The Healthy Kids Program who help families apply for the children’s health insurance program.  We are also involved in a Latino training pilot which provides equipment, interpreters and translation services for training Latino families in leadership, health information, disability specific information, and parenting skills. Our partners include Multnomah ESD, the Latino Learning Community, and Hispano El Programo.   We will also soon have a Family to Family Health Information toll-free line for parents to call for information and referral.   Other projects Oregon F2F is involved in include the Western States Genetic Services Collaborative, the OPAL-K project, the Autism Commission’s subcommittee on education redesign, and the Equal Access Coalition, which is dedicated to ensuring that all Oregonians have access to adequate, affordable health care.
